Dades & Draa Valley Travel Guide

The Dades and Draa valleys form one of Morocco's most dramatic inland landscapes. Stretching from the foothills of the High Atlas to the edge of the Sahara, these valleys are lined with ancient kasbahs, rose gardens, palm oases and spectacular rock formations carved by centuries of wind and water.

Every May, the Rose Valley around Kelaa M'Gouna bursts into bloom for the famous Rose Festival. Todra Gorges — with 300-metre vertical walls — is one of Africa's most impressive canyon landscapes. You Morocco Tours includes the Dades and Draa valleys on private Sahara circuits from Marrakech, Fes and Casablanca.

"Todra Gorges left us speechless"

The scale of Todra Gorges is simply impossible to describe in a photo. Standing between those vertical walls with a stream running through was one of the most awe-inspiring moments of our trip.

"La route des kasbahs est incroyable"

Nous n'avions pas imaginé que le Maroc pouvait être aussi beau en dehors des villes. Les gorges, les palmeraies, les kasbahs... La route entre Ouarzazate et Merzouga est inoubliable.

"The drive alone is worth the trip"

The Dades canyon road is unlike anything I have driven. Around every bend a new kasbah or canyon appears. We stopped for tea at a local guesthouse and it was magical.
