Welcome dinner in the medina.
A full day exploring one of the world's best-preserved medieval cities. Guided tour of Fes el-Bali (UNESCO): the 9th-century Al-Qaraouiyine University, the spectacular Bou Inania Madrasa with its cedar woodwork and mosaic tilework, the famous Chouara Tanneries where leather has been processed the same way for centuries, and the medieval Attarine Souk (spice market). Lunch at a Fassi restaurant — try traditional harira soup and pastilla. Afternoon free to explore the Mellah (Jewish quarter) and the artisan copper and ceramic workshops of the northern medina. Evening at riad.
Early departure from Fes. Drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains — stop in the charming alpine town of Ifrane, known as Morocco's Switzerland, with its Swiss-chalet architecture and famous stone lion sculpture. Continue through the Cedar Forest of Azrou where wild Barbary macaque monkeys roam freely — a wonderful wildlife encounter. Lunch in Midelt, the apple capital, in the dramatic valley between the Middle and High Atlas. Cross the stunning Ziz Gorges and Ziz Valley palm oasis — one of Morocco's most spectacular drives. Arrive in Merzouga at sunset. Mount camels for a magical sunset camel trek into the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. Overnight in a luxury desert camp — traditional music around the fire, Berber dinner under a billion stars.
Wake before dawn for a breathtaking Sahara sunrise over the orange dunes from atop Erg Chebbi. Optional morning 4×4 desert excursion to nomad villages and fossil beds near Erfoud. After breakfast, depart west through the Draa Valley and the ancient city of Rissani (birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty). Continue to the spectacular Todra Gorge — narrow canyon walls rising 300 metres above a crystal-clear river, a paradise for hikers and climbers. Afternoon drive through the breathtaking Road of a Thousand Kasbahs (N10). Stop at the rose-scented Kelaa M'Gouna (Valley of Roses). Arrive in Ouarzazate evening. Dinner and overnight.
Morning visit to the fortified mud-brick village of Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO World Heritage) — a breathtaking ksar used as a film set for Gladiator, Game of Thrones and Lawrence of Arabia. Explore the labyrinthine alleyways and climb to the granary for panoramic Atlas views. Optional visit to Ouarzazate Film Studios (Ridley Scott's favourite). Drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m) — dramatic switchback mountain road with Berber villages clinging to the slopes. Descend through the rose-pink foothills to Marrakech. Drop-off at your riad or hotel in the Red City. End of tour.

"Casablanca to Marrakech — the ultimate Morocco trip"
We flew into Casablanca, did 5 days and flew out of Marrakech — perfect logistics! Fes medina was mesmerizing, the Sahara night was unforgettable and Ait Ben Haddou looked just like Game of Thrones. You Morocco Tours is world-class.
"La noche en el desierto fue mágica"
El tour de 5 días fue perfecto. Meknes y Volubilis nos sorprendieron mucho — no esperábamos tanto. Fes fue increíble. La noche en el campamento de lujo en el Sahara fue lo más bonito que hemos vivido jamás. El amanecer en las dunas: 10/10.
"Best way to see Morocco quickly"
Only had 5 days and we saw SO much — imperial city, Sahara desert, Kasbahs, Atlas mountains and Marrakech. The driver was incredible — he knew every story, every hidden street. Organized perfectly with zero stress for us. Will come back for the longer tour!
