Continue north along the Atlantic coast to the charming whitewashed town of Asilah — Portuguese ramparts, painted murals and fresh seafood. Arrive in Tangier by evening — the gateway between Europe and Africa. Check in to hotel. Evening stroll along the corniche and dinner at a Tangier terrace restaurant overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar.
Full day exploring Tangier. Morning: Cape Spartel — the most northwestern point of Africa where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea; the dramatic Caves of Hercules — ancient sea caves with an Africa-shaped opening to the ocean. Visit the Mountain district (former American Legation, Matisse's Tangier inspiration). Afternoon: the Grand Socco market square, the old medina with its covered bazaars, the Kasbah Museum (Dar el-Makhzen palace) with panoramic views of the Strait. Dinner with views toward Spain.
Drive southeast along the northern coast. Stop in Tetouan — the "White Dove" city with a beautifully preserved Hispano-Moorish medina (UNESCO). Visit the Tetouan Medina, the Artisan School and the Archaeological Museum. Continue to the legendary Chefchaouen — arrive by afternoon. Check in to riad. Afternoon and evening free to explore the blue painted medina. Dinner in Place Uta el-Hammam.
Morning guided tour of Chefchaouen: Kasbah Museum, the Ras El Maa waterfall, the Spanish Mosque hike and the iconic blue alleyways. Afternoon: depart for Fes through the Rif Mountains. Arrive Fes early evening. Check in to medina riad. Welcome walk through Fes el-Bali first impressions. Traditional Fassi dinner.
Dedicated full day in Fes el-Bali (UNESCO): guided tour of the Chouara Tanneries, Bou Inania Madrasa, Al-Qaraouiyine University (founded 859 AD), Attarine Spice Souk, Mellah (Jewish quarter), Andalusian Quarter and the medieval Nejjarine Fountain. Afternoon cooking class or free exploration. Dinner in the medina.
Early departure. Visit Meknes: Bab Mansour, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, royal granaries. Drive to Volubilis (UNESCO Roman ruins — mosaics, triumphal arch, basilica). Continue through Ifrane (Morocco's Switzerland) and the Cedar Forest of Azrou (wild Barbary macaque monkeys). Cross the Ziz Valley palm grove. Arrive Merzouga at sunset. Sunset camel trek into Erg Chebbi dunes. Overnight luxury desert camp — live music, Berber dinner, incredible stargazing.
Pre-dawn Sahara sunrise from the dune summit. Berber breakfast. Optional 4×4 morning excursion (nomad villages, oases, fossil markets). "Tangier to Marrakech — an epic 8 days"
Adding Tangier made this trip extra special. Standing at Cape Spartel seeing Europe across the water was a moment I'll never forget. Then Chefchaouen, then Fes, then the Sahara... every single day was completely different. World-class tour, world-class service.
"El mejor viaje de nuestra vida"
8 días con You Morocco Tours y lo vimos absolutamente todo. Tánger fue una sorpresa enorme — no esperábamos tanto. Chefchaouen, Fes, el Sahara y Marrakech. El guía fue excepcional, siempre sonriendo, siempre con un dato curioso. Lo recomendamos sin dudarlo.
"8 days, 8 different experiences"
Atlantic coast, blue mountain city, ancient imperial capital, Sahara desert, limestone gorges, UNESCO fortress, high mountain pass and Marrakech. Each day was a completely new Morocco. The private format meant we spent as long as we liked at each place. Couldn't ask for more.
Absolutely — we can replace Tangier with extra nights in Chefchaouen or Fes, or add a second night in Merzouga for a full desert experience. Your tour, your choice.
8 days covers Morocco's greatest highlights very comfortably — the iconic north, the best imperial city, the Sahara, the gorges and Marrakech. For those wanting to add Agadir, Essaouira or more time in Marrakech, we recommend the 10-day or 12-day tour.
The luxury desert camp includes a private tent with comfortable beds and linen, traditional Berber dinner, breakfast, live music around the campfire, and the sunset camel trek. Upgrade tents are available with ensuite bathroom and hot shower.
